CottonLivesIndependent AI Studio
Independent AI studio · production GenAI, agents & RAG

We design & ship production AI systems — from architecture to live product.

CottonLives is an independent AI studio. We build GenAI, multi-agent & RAG platforms for Life Sciences, FinTech and Logistics — on Databricks, Azure, AWS and GCP. Not slideware: three of our AI products are live and open source below.

What I do for you

AI, from architecture to production.

We don't just advise — we design the architecture and build the thing. POC to production, with guardrails, observability, and cost/latency under control. Here's where we plug in.

Multi-agent & Agentic systems

Supervisor / sub-agent topologies with role-specialized agents, tool-calling, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints for high-risk actions.

LangGraphMCPAutoGenCrewAI

RAG & Document Intelligence

Source-grounded retrieval with citation verification, hybrid search, and disease/domain-aware extraction. Answers that always show their source.

Azure AI SearchFAISSpgvectorBioBERT

GenAI productization

Turn a POC into a production-ready component that plugs into your app with minimal friction — Docker, CI/CD, evals, and BYOK security.

OpenAIClaudeGeminiLlama

Cost, latency & reliability

Model-routing by task, token/cost observability, caching, and per-account attribution. Get the cost/quality curve where it needs to be.

Enterprise AI architecture

Target architecture, integration patterns, governance and guardrails to embed AI into existing enterprise systems, data platforms and workflows.

Pre-sales, RFP/RFI & TCO

Architecture blueprints, delivery models and TCO/ROI estimates for large enterprise AI deals — authored and presented to win the deal.

Proof, not promises

Three AI products. Live & open source.

Same DNA across all three: source-grounded, bring-your-own-key, fully open source. Kick the tires on the live demos — or ask us to adapt one to your team's data.

01 · Tutorly All products

Turn your YouTube videos into a 24/7 AI tutor for your students.

Course creators answer the same questions every cohort, forever. Tutorly does that for them — scoped strictly to their content, with clickable timestamps that jump back to the exact second in the source video.

Paste YouTube URL → tutorAbout 10 seconds to ingest a video. No file conversion. No re-recording. Works with your existing content.
Clickable timestamps — the moatEach answer cites the moment in your video. Students click [▶ 1:51] → YouTube opens at that second.
Strictly your contentWon't hallucinate, won't reach for general knowledge, won't recommend off-brand resources. Says "not covered" when honest.
BYOK · zero key storageYour OpenAI key lives only in the visitor's browser. Sent as a TLS header per request. Never stored on our server.

02 · Biomarker Research All products

Oncology biomarker data, structured & cited in 60 seconds.

Translational research teams pull biomarker data out of PDFs by hand — into inconsistent spreadsheets with no audit trail. Drop the PDF into Biomarker Research and get a 4-sheet workbook where every row carries a verbatim source quote.

4 sheets, one schemaStudy Details · BM Catalog · Statistical Results · Author Inferences. Every paper produces the same structure. Cross-paper pivots just work.
Verbatim source quote per rowEach p-value, HR, or biomarker classification comes with the exact sentence + section ("Results §3.2"). Defensible by construction.
Disease-aware extractionA classifier detects disease + study type + biomarker type, then layers the right specialized prompt. Better extraction than one-size-fits-all.
SHA256 cache · cents per paper~$0.01 per typical paper on gpt-4o-mini. Same paper re-run is free. A 1000-paper corpus runs ~$10–25.

03 · SAR Extractor All products

From paper to SAR landscape — in minutes, not weeks.

Medchem teams lose two weeks every new target reading ChEMBL, PMC, and patents. SAR Extractor pulls compounds, bioactivities, and SAR trends from medicinal-chemistry literature into a clean, source-traced dataset — with rendered structures and RDKit-validated SMILES.

RDKit-validated chemistryEvery SMILES is parsed by RDKit before it lands in the dataset. Bad structures get flagged, not silently sanitized into nonsense.
Source snippet on every rowEach compound, IC₅₀, and binding mode carries the verbatim sentence from its source paper. Defensible at the project review.
SAR observations + IC₅₀ chartAuto-generated SAR commentary plus a potency distribution chart. Skim the landscape in 30 seconds; drill into rows for descriptors.
Productionizable architectureDev = SQLite + BackgroundTasks. Prod = Postgres + Qdrant + MinIO + Celery without changing the app code. Same Docker image, same pipeline.

What's the same across all three

Common DNA. Built on a deliberate philosophy.

Different verticals, same foundations. If you trust one, you can trust the others.

Source-grounded

Every answer or extracted row carries the source it came from. No hallucination, no "trust me." If a finding doesn't have a source, it doesn't ship.

BYOK · zero key storage

Your OpenAI / Anthropic key lives only in your browser. Sent as a TLS header per request. Redacted from logs. Never persisted server-side.

Open source

Every line of every product is on GitHub. Audit it, fork it, run it on your own infra. Don't trust black boxes — and especially not with your data.

Boring, reliable stack

FastAPI · React · ChromaDB · OpenAI · Docker · Hugging Face Spaces. No magic, no exotic frameworks, no vendor lock. Easy to extend, easy to self-host.

SAR Extractor
You start a new target every quarter and lose two weeks building a SAR landscape from ChEMBL, PMC, and patents.
Medchem leads · computational chemistry teams · drug-discovery analysts · biotech med-chem service teams.
About the studio

A studio that ships, not just advises.

CottonLives
Independent AI Studio · India · working worldwide

CottonLives is a small, senior AI studio with 19+ years of deep-tech experience across AI, cloud and enterprise platforms. We specialize in GenAI, multi-agent / agentic systems, RAG architectures and LLM integrations on Databricks, Azure, AWS and GCP — combining OpenAI/Claude-style models with custom-trained models, vector search and cloud-native microservices.

We've designed and delivered production AI for Life Sciences, FinTech and Logistics across the US, UK, EU and Asia. We own the architecture and debug the pipeline at 2am — POC to production, without the hand-off gap that kills most AI projects.
